This con season has flown by. It is already time for Bronycon and with that, we are throwing up our info post all about where you can find us, what we'll have and of course, info on our class. If you're going, please stop by and say hello. We love meeting everyone!

You can find us at booth 612 this year. We'll be sharing with Grennadder and Matchfire Electronics. Make sure to drop by and say hello! We're going to have a good selection of pony/non-pony selection this year so you'll be able to find whatever it is that you're looking for!

Bronycon 2016 Exclusives
Luna by The-Paper-PonyUntitled-2 by The-Paper-Pony

Luna and Celestia are our 2016 Bronycon exclusives this year. They will be selling individually for $80 or $150 for the pair. You may only get them if you are attending the convention or are one of our Patreons.

Escape Equestria

Banner by The-Paper-Pony

You'll notice our response times and uploads have been a bit slow lately. That's because we've been working on a brand new venture with two of our friends. This year, Bronycon will have the first ever MLP themed escape room put on by us! As reported over on Equestria Daily, an escape room is "a game where 4-8 players are "locked" in a room and must solve puzzles and clues together with their team to "escape" within a set time limit. Utilizing hidden objects, trivia and more, these puzzles test the mind and promote interaction with your group!" (That whole article about the escape room was actually written by me!)

Bronycon is the first place we will be running it so make sure you are one of the first to try to beat the clock! Our theme is "Doctor Whooves Time Crunch". He has been lost somewhere in time but his time machine has returned to his lab. It is up to your team to follow the clues he left around his office to find the key word to send it back to him.

If this is something you are interested in doing, check out our website: www.escapeequestria.com/.

If you've seen it and want to book, you can get $5 off the admission price (so $30 online or $35 at the door) if you book early: www.escapeequestria.com/bookin…

Bronycon Shadowbox building Class

As always, we've gotten a lot of notes already about our class. We were running a bit behind on getting the designs finished but have finally released them. That means we are now accepting early sign-up for the class. Since Bronycon is so big, we are doing 2 classes.

Friday night class:
Bronycon class Luna by The-Paper-Pony

Friday night we will be building this Luna design only. We will only be building her on Friday so if you sign up for the Saturday class, we will be doing Celestia. Our class on Friday is at 9 PM in the Pastel Pastures . There are 30 slots available for this class and it is first come, first serve.

Saturday night class:
Bronycon class Celestia by The-Paper-Pony

On Saturday night, we'll be building Celestia! There are 30 slots for this class and each kit costs $15 (including a frame to put your completed pony in). This class is at 9 PM in Pastel Pastures .

If you would like to sign up early, please either note us, DM us on Twitter or email at mitcheb0219@gmail.com with your full name (and fandom name if you prefer, if it is provided, I will likely use it during role call) and day you would like to participate in the class. We will send you info on how to pay and won't reserve your spot until we've received payment through Paypal.

That's all the info you need to know! If you are going to Bronycon, we hope you'll stop by and visit but if you can't make it, have a wonderful convention!

We can't believe it is already time for Everfree Northwest but it is upon us! Everfree NW will be going on May 13-15th in Seattle Washington so if you are going, we'll see you there and if you are in the area and just now hearing about it, hopefully you'll decide to go! Here's our post with all the info you need to know in order to see us there!

We'll be Community Guests again this year and can't wait to see everyone.

Everfree 2016 Vendor Hall Map

Everfree map by The-Paper-Pony

*Full disclosure, I've seen other vendors do this sort of thing and thought it was cool so tried it out. Most recently, I saw LeekFish make a map that was a lot prettier than this one but I am in no way trying to take credit for the idea.

We'll be at booth 35 on the right hand of the hall again this year. Come by to see some of our new designs listed above or check out some of our old favorites! We have quite a big selection but as always, limited numbers of everything. You can order things for a shipping discount if we run out so make sure to ask us about that if the box you wanted disappears!

Also, we have loads of amazing vendor type friends going to Everfree NW. I'm going to miss a lot of them but make sure to stop by JaDeDJynX, LeekFish, BumbleBun, Grennadder, viwrastupr, Ardail, EquestriaPlush, Cutie Corral and more! I'm sure I missed a few and I'm sorry, you are all awesome!

Also, make sure to check out our 2016 Everfree NW convention exclusive Cadence and Chrsyalis!

2016 Everfree NW Exclusive Cadence Shadowbox by The-Paper-Pony2016 Everfree NW Exclusive Chrysalis Shadowbox by The-Paper-Pony

As with all of our con exclusives, they are only available on site or if you are a Patron so make sure to snag one if you want them! They will be $80 each.

Everfree NW 2016 Charity Pieces

We have two charity pieces this year, one by JaDeDJynX and the other by BumbleBun.

MORE INFO ON THOSE COMING SOON!

But one hint, these little fillies will be there to sign it! As always, they are two-of-a-kind, one for the artist and the other for the charity auction.

Everfree NW 2016 Shadowbox Building Workshop

There have been a lot of inquiries about the class so my suggestion would be to contact us ASAP if you want to join in. For Babscon, we'd sold all but 12 slots by the time we got there and we've had even more folks asking about our Everfree class so there is a good chance it will be sold out.

Here are the designs we will be making:
Ab by The-Paper-Pony  Sb by The-Paper-Pony  Scoots by The-Paper-Pony

We will be building the CMCs in our filly design! This is cool because we have never done them in these designs before and all three VAs will be there so if you want to get a box that you made signed, you can! We thought since Everfree NW had all three CMCs, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to let you all build them.

As usual, we will have 30 slots available for the class. We have cut out 10 of each design and once that pony is gone, we won't have anymore. They cost $15 per kit.

Our class this year is FRIDAY, from 7:30 to 8:30 PM at Cadence Room . This is sort of a tight time slot so if we are booted out and someone isn't done, I'll hang around outside to help out. We'll be going quick in this class to make up for the time so come with your learning pants on!

If you would like to sign up early, please either note us, DM us on Twitter or email at mitcheb0219@gmail.com with your full name (and fandom name if you prefer, if it is provided, I will likely use it during role call) and pony of choice. We will send you info on how to pay and won't reserve your spot until we've received payment through Paypal.

Donations Jar

Erica by The-Paper-Pony

If even of you visited us at Babscon, or follow us on Twitter, you already know that our dear friend, Jon Roman passed away suddenly right before Babscon. It was shock to all of and something we are still reeling from. He was 32 years old and healthy but unfortunately, he had a heart condition that went unnoticed.

He left behind his wife, Erica, who is also our dear friend, and their daughter, Jocelyn. We just recently found out that Jon left behind one other gift... Erica is pregnant.

At Babscon, we had a donation jar set out for them and collected close to $500. We will have a donation jar at our table at Everfree as well. If you are going and have a few spare dollars, please consider donating. Brian and I are planning to match the donations up to $500.

This would mean so much to his family and us. We loved him so much.

If you aren't able to make it but still want to donate, this is the website to their indiegogo: www.generosity.com/memorial-fu…

As always, we are looking forward to seeing you all there!

It's that time of year again where we are heading to our first convention. This year, that convention is Babscon and it'll be our third time attending it. It is in California and will be April 22-24th!

We will be going as community guests again this year and can't thank the Babscon team enough for working with us. They are awesome folks. We'll be uploading a bunch of pictures of finished products in the next few days so look forward to checking out our new boxes!

Our booth numbers this year are F1 and F2 . I've highlighted them in red. Make sure to stop by, say hello and check out over 20 new designs that we'll be premiering at Babscon. Or maybe, you're more interested in our convention exclusive? We'll, I wouldn't blame you because they are some of our best work to date. You can pick up either our 2016 Babscon exclusive Luna or 2016 Babscon exclusive Celestia. They are $80 each or $150 for the pair. We will be accepting orders if they sell out but you can only get them if you attend the convention or are our Patreon.

2016 Babscon Exclusive Shadowbox Mock-ups by The-Paper-Pony

Babscon 2016 Charity Pieces

This year, we will be submitting to separate things to the Babscon charity auction. The first is a pretty wicked set and we've collaborated with two amazing artists to make it happen. :iconjadedjynx: provided the artwork for Discord as Loki and :icondennyvixen: provided the artwork for Celestia as Wonder Woman. We are so happy to be collabing with two such talented artist and we love how these pieces compliment each other. If you like these pieces, make sure to go share the love and follow them!

Babscon 2016 Shadowbox Building Workshop

This year for our shadowbox building workshop, we are going to be doing something a little different. We will be teaching dual classes, one for adults and another for kids. They will be going on at the same time so multiple family members can be there to attend. Think of the kids class as The Paper Pony Jr version. So here is info on both:

Adult Class

The adult class will be held from 6:30 to 7:45 on Saturday and will cost $15 which include everything you need to build your shadowbox including frames! We meet qt the Crusaders Clubhouse which is opening for adults during this time. There are 30 slots available you can begin to sign up now. We will accept sign ups until the TUESDAY BEFORE THE CONVENTION. After that, any additional slots will be sold at our table. Here is the design for this year for a 5x7 box:
Adult GG by The-Paper-Pony

Class Early Sign-up:

Kids Class

The kid class is at the same time (6:45-7:30) and will also meet at the Crusaders Clubhouse. This workshop costs $5 but does not include a shadowbox frame. If you are interested in purchasing one, we will have a few (if they make it during shipping and I don't have to replace too many broken frames for the adults class) that you can purchase for an additional $5. We will be building a 5x7 Pinkie Pie. She is the only design that will be available since I'll be teaching the classes simultaneously.  We have 15 JR slots. We will accept sign ups until the TUESDAY BEFORE THE CONVENTION. After that, any additional slots will be sold at our table.

Jr Class early Sign-up:

If you are interested in participating in the class, please let us know in comments below or you can email us at mitcheb0219@gmail.com. You must submit payment in order to register through Paypal so if you contact me but do not provide payment, your slot is not saved.

We look forward to seeing everyone there!

We cannot believe it is almost Nightmare Nights again! This year has flown by! For those of you that follow us on Twitter, you know that we recently just moved and before we knew it we were late prepping for Nightmare Nights. Unfortunately, this year only Mrs. Paper Pony (and two wonderful helpers) will be attending as Mr. Paper Pony has to stay back for work. However, we will still be doing all the things we usually do at cons like selling, teaching our class and will also have a con exclusive. So let's go over the important stuff now so you know where to find us at the third year of Nightmare Nights!

Nightmare Nights 2015 Vendor Hall Map

NMND-2015-1024x967 by The-Paper-Pony

We really hope that if you are attending, you'll drop by the vendor hall and say hello! We've highlighted our space in red so you should be able to find us pretty easily. There are a lot of wonderful vendors attending this year so definitely make stopping by the hall part of your day. You're bound to see some incredible stuff!

Nightmare Nights 2015 Exclusive Shadowbox

Nightmare Nights 2015 Exclusive Luna Mock-up by The-Paper-Pony

For our exclusive this year, we decided to represent Luna from the newest season of MLP. We thought her episode was very moving and wanted to showcase it in a box. As with all of our convention exclusives, this box is only available at Nightmare Nights 2015. Once the convention is over, we won't be making the design anymore and you must be present (or have someone that is present) to buy it. A few of these will also be available to our Patrons!

Nightmare Nights 2015 Charity Auction Set

We decided to do a set of four shadowboxes for Nightmare Nights this year. We really enjoy collaborating with other artists to bring their work into the paper realm and thought the theme of Nightmare Nights offered up some really fun possiblities. For these, we chose four characters: Celestia, Luna, Discord and Chrysalis and asked the artists to put them into costumes. The artists picked for this collaboration were :iconleekfish:, :iconjadedjynx: and :icongrennadder:. We provided the final piece of art. For these, the artists decided to make the backgrounds match which we thought was really cool. JaDeDJynX designed a staircase so you'll notice that hers and Grennadder's piece both are at the ends of the staircase and LeekFish's and ours are at the top. They also decided to each add an animal element into the design that is associated with Halloween!

The cool thing about these is all of them will be available as prints!

We have to say, these pieces really took our breath away!

Princess Celestia by The Paper Pony
Untitled-1 by The-Paper-Pony

For Celestia, we debated a Greek Goddess theme or something Egyptian but in the end, we thought a Cleopatra vibe would work best for her, especially since we wanted to incorporate in a snake for her. We will end up shading this is making it into a print which will also be auctioned off with the shadowboxes. We plan on using a lot of mirrorboard and glitter paper for her! We wanted her to have a really soft look so we chose a relaxed and regal pose for her!

Princess Luna by LeekFish
t66 O9ij by The-Paper-Pony

We can tell you from firsthand account that Leekfish spent a lot of time selecting colors to give Luna the perfect palette. With all the ruffles, bows and that mane, this box is going to be stuffed full of things to look at and of course, glitter! We love her expression here and all the Magical Girl inspiration of the outfit and pose. Plus that black cat in the corner is so cute! We can't wait to turn this into paper.

Discord by Grennadder
tVPyKmSn by The-Paper-Pony

In Grenadder's piece, Discord makes the perfect Mad Hatter. We love the whimsy of his pose and all the different fabric designs on his patches really pulls this look together. Plus, who can resist the little spider sitting in his cup like its a bath? The twisted and winding staircase in the background and slanted window really fit with the topsy-turvy theme of the Hatter.

Chrysalis by Jadedjynx
Unnamed by The-Paper-Pony

JadedJynx wanted to go for a Lolita/vampire feel for Chrysalis and we think she knocked it out of the park. We're not sure our work will be able to capture all of the detail but we will do our best. From the patterns on her dress to the gorgeously detailed ribbons threading through it at the bottom, this piece screams classic gothic! Her animal was bats!

As always, we will only make two copies of these boxes. One for the artist and one for the charity auction. Only the person who bids will have the complete set!

Nightmare Nights 2015 Shadowbox Workshop

We are having a workshop again this year. We'll be able to announce more details in a few days but I can say that it will be on Friday, October 23rd, at 6 PM in Chinaberry . The cost per kit will be $15 to include a 5x7 shadowbox frame. We have recently been doing silhouettes in our classes but this new design might be a tad more complex (still easy enough for a beginner). We will be releasing more details shortly!

Class Roster:

That's all the stuff you need to know in order to see us at Nightmare Nights! We look forward to seeing a lot of you again and meeting some of you for the first time!

Once again, it is almost time for Broyncon and with it, we have some exciting news! Here's the journal where you can find all the information you need about our journey to Baltimore and what you can expect from us!

Bronycon Charity Auction

After last year's success if collaborating with multiple community artists to make a set of boxes for charity, we decided to do it again! So for this year, we chose several artists and tasked them with designing concepts for the four princesses! After each choosing their princess, they got to work on the concepts and what they came up with was way beyond our expectations!

Princess Cadence by Jadedjynx

Mockup by The-Paper-Pony

Princess Cadence was chosen by :iconjadedjynx:. Just like her Fluttershy last year, she didn't fail to create something complex and beautiful with mane that is going to test the limits of paper once again. We love how she chose a more formal look for her and we can't wait to make all of those crystals sparkle with glitterstock paper! This box is really going to shine!

Princess Twilight by Leekfish

Twilight shadowbox BC 2015 by The-Paper-Pony

Princess Twilight was chosen by :iconleekfish: who said she drew inspiration from Celestia's Ballad in Season 3. We love  the simple elegance of this piece and how it really showcases Twilight's transformation into a princess, The pink ribbons and sparkles around her are going to look beautiful in glitterstock and her open wings are really going to make this look like a grand shadowbox when it is finished!

Princess Celestia by Viwrastupr

Princess Celestia was chosen by :iconviwrastupr: who when told to challenge us, laughed and said we were going to regret our words. And while we're going to have a fun time with those wings, we're so glad he decided to challenge us so we could get this lovely piece. Celestia's posing really looks grand, making the focus those gorgeously detailed wings instead of her mane and tail. The sun in the background is going to look beautiful in glitterstock and the gentle billowing clouds truly add an air of wonder to the piece!

Princess Luna by TsaoShin

Moon Rise by TsaoShin

Princess Luna was chosen by :icontsaoshin: who delivered something truly spectacular to look at. The mixture of pink and light blue in Luna's hair echo not just the night sky but the milky way and will look gorgeous out of glitterstock. Luna's soft expression and pose makes her look like she is dancing through the night sky, painting it with her mane!

These four designs will be turned into 11" x 14" shadowboxes for the Bronycon auction and we can't wait to see how they are going to translate into paper!

Bronycon Location

Bronycon 2015 by The-Paper-Pony

This year we are booth number 420 (insert joke here)! We'll be sharing this space with :icongrennadder: and :iconthepurplepumpkin: so make sure to drop by and check us out! We're going to have lots of new designs and 2 Bronycon exclusive shadowboxes!

Bronycon Exclusive Shadowboxes

Bronycon 15 Exclusive Vinyl and Octavia Mockup by The-Paper-Pony

We decided to use Vinyl and Octavia as our exclusive Bronycon shadowboxes. The only way you can get them is either by attending the convention or being our Patreon (limited number will be available and must be a $20 tier Patron for at least one month prior).

They will be sold separately and cost $75 each.

Bronycon Class

We are excited to say that our shadowbox workshop has been approved for this year! However, we don't know if we will be doing one or two workshops and we don't know when they are. As we know more info, we'll be sure to share it. As soon as we find out more, we will update this journal post and start accepting early admission into the class!

Are you going to Bronycon? If so we can't wait to see you there! Make sure to drop by and say hello.

Hey everyone!

So we have some announcements today with customs. We've had lots of folks waiting on our custom list for a shamefully long time. We try to get to the customs when we can but con prep hasn't allowed us to do them nearly as fast as we used to. We remember the days when we could get customs turned around in a week. Now, it's months and months at a time and that isn't far to the requester, or to us.

With that said, we are going to be dropping most of the customs on our list unless we contact you specifically. We hate to do this, especially since some of you have been waiting for a very long time for us but unfortunately, we must for our own health. Even with one of us working on the shadowboxes full time, there just aren't enough hours in the day to get everything that we want to get finished done.

We are really sorry.

That being said, when we do have time for customs (especially around the holidays), we will open up slots and choose from the requests we get. There will be announcement in advanced when that happens.

You may always email, contact us on Etsy or note us, if you have a request and we'll do our best to answer you about whether we have time. We are more likely to take on projects that we are able to resell, so nothing too personal like OCs (but again, you are always welcome to ask). We are also less likely to take on pieces with strict time limits, especially during our convention season.

Thanks so much for your understanding. This isn't something we wanted to do but something we felt like we had to do for ourselves.

We really appreciate each and every one of you guys.

Hey guys!

Just a quick heads up that we're going to be on the Grey Mare Show tomorrow night at 8PM Pacific (11PM Eastern)

We will be contributing to a charity auction (a collaboration with :iconsilverslinger:) as well as discussing all kinds of arts and crafts.

We are auctioning off a one of a kind shadowbox (20" x 20") proceeds to benefit The Animal Allies Humane Society www.animalallies.net/

Shadowbox Mockup - Adversary (20 x 20) by The-Paper-Pony

The auction has begun! Go here to bid! Remember that it all goes to charity! Bidding is at $300!:  TOGM Auction: SilverSlinger/PaperPony OOAK 19x19This thread is for bidding on the Silver Slinger / Paper Pony one of a kind masterpiece, 'Adversary', featuring Tirek battling Twilight. For a preview of what the final product will look like, see Shadowbox Mockup - Adversary (20 x 20)

The artwork itself is 19" x 19". The box makes it 20" x 20". This is a large, beautiful masterwork that showcases two beloved pony aritsans, Silver Slinger (doing metalwork on Twilight's armour, Tirek's nose ring, and more) and Paper Pony. We are so furious about this and incredibly sorry to those that are affected.

Bronycon 2014 Recap!

We are back from Bronycon 2014 and let us just say, it was a whirlwind. We did ourselves a huge favor this time by flying up on Thursday instead of trying to drive. Not only did this save us the 18-hour drive time but also allowed us to get there earlier!

We stayed at the Hilton this year which was a lot of fun. By the time we arrived, it was already packed with Bronies hanging out in the lobby. We met up with our roomies for the weekend (:icon7tails: and :iconjadedjynx: (Gay Fluttershy) as well as Lene) and hopped to setting up our booth.

Bronycon was extremely kind to us and gave us a wonderful spot in their vendor hall. We'd requested a premium spot and were accepted so we were stoked to see how close we were to the entrance.

After spending 4 hours getting set up because we had to figure out how to fit all of our boxes, we finally had a our booth looking the best it ever has in our opinions:

We ended up bringing about 270 shadowboxes to sell. As you can see, we had some pony and non-pony stuff since we got so many folks asking if we did non-pony stuff last year.

We were nervous on Friday morning because we'd brought quite a few boxes this year and there was also another paper artist in the hall. We weren't really sure what to reasonably expect.

Suffice to say that by the time we realized we'd sold out of the first 15 Luna exclusives in 20 mins, we had a feeling everything would be alright. We were overwhelmed and completely humbled by your response to all the hard work we'd put in over the last three months. All those days of waking up at 10 am to an alarm, building until we went to work, then coming home at midnight and building to 4 AM were made completely worth it by the excitement and kindness everyone showed us.

Thank you so much if you came by to support us, tell us that you loved what we did or even to chat. We can't express how much your support made our weekend!

After the hall closed, we went on to the first of two classes. We tried a new design this time around and were overall really happy with the way it came out. Everyone walked out with a completed laughing pony and even though we were tired, we were so pleased at the outcome. We went out to dinner that night with our roomies and the lovely Jade and Bubba (;P) of A Purple Pumpkin for dinner. It was nice getting to spend some time with them since they are gonna be our roomies for Nightmare nights this year (we can't wait!).

At the hall, we saw a lot of wonderful vendors.

There was :iconmillermademares: who we did an art trade with for an adorable sleeping Derpy.

I ran over early to see if :iconjanellesplushies: had any of her Appas with her and got to see her plushies up close. We also got to see :icongrennadder: and :iconviwrastupr:. Then there was :iconleekfish:, :iconspainfischer: and :iconnsomniotic:!

We did some shopping and ended up with way too much to bring home. You can take a look at all the amazing things we found:

On Saturday, our friend watched the booth so we could go to the charity auction. When our boxes finally rolled around, we were so pleased at the excitement that everyone showed as they were displayed. Our collab with :iconpixelkitties:, :iconspainfischer:, :iconcatwhitney:, :iconjadedjynx:, :iconleekfish: and :iconjohnjoseco: ended up raising $3,250 for charity and we couldn't be more ecstatic for the outcome.

The gentleman that bought them is a super nice guy and we are happy to see them going to such a wonderful home. BartonFink from the Round Stable purchased our 30/30 Luna Exclusive and put her in the charity auction as well. Someone was able to snag the last copy of her signed by Tabitha St Germain  (She sold for $650) Bronycon 2014 Limited Edition Exclusive Luna by The-Paper-Pony

We're already getting questions about what we are doing next year and know that we are already brainstorming how to top such a wonderful collab (with another perhaps?).

Our class on Saturday went a little rougher since we ran out of a few backgrounds but we were able to sneak to Walmart afterwards and found the perfect substitute. We can proudly say that by Sunday, everyone had a complete pony and background to take home!

We thought the workshop set up and room ran really smoothly and couldn't be happier with the popularity of our classes. We wish that we could have let everyone that was interested in to build a pony but due to the fact that we have to pre-cut the kits, it just wasn't possible.

By Sunday, we ended up selling out of every box we brought which made pack up really easy. We couldn't believe how generous and supportive everyone was and would just like to thank you all again for reminding us of that fact. It was quite nice to get to visit a bit more with :icongrennadder: and :iconviwrastupr: for dinner on Sunday night and a great way to wind down after a whirlwind of a weekend.

We want to take a moment to express our gratitude to the con chair Josh Dean, the head of vendor relations FireEnvy and all of the volunteers and workers of Bronycon for running such an epicly smooth convention. They listened to the complaints of last year and drastically improved on them, making for a 20% cooler (you know we had to) convention. Everywhere we looked, we saw smiling faces and that says something about how wonderful the convention was run. We know how hard the security and staff worked to make sure everything went perfectly and even though we didn't get to see all of you and thank you personally, we really appreciate your dedication! The only thing that would make next year better are more trash cans in the vendor hall!

Favorite moments:

-Getting to meet Andon_A from Twitter in our class and chasing him down the next day
-Speaking with the :iconcutieartcrusaders: and doing an interview with them on Saturday morning. Not only are they easy to talk to but they are also really nice folks
-Seeing LyokoTravels several times throughout the weekend.
-Watching :icon7tails: buy his way through the vendor hall (and storing his stuff for him behind our booth)
-Having dinner with A Purple Pumpkin (twice) and walking to the harbor with :icongrennadder: and :iconviwrastupr:
-Chatting with :iconmixermike: about Flufflepuff!
-Quick story: Late Saturday night, :iconjadedjynx: pulled out a Fluttershy shirt and said she was wearing her "yay Fluttershy" shirt though it sounded like she said "Gay Fluttershy" shirt so now that is what she is known as!
-Watching everyone in our class walk out with a finished pony
-Selling that last Rarity shadowbox!
-Seeing our charity auction pieces at the auction
-Getting to chat with all of you!

Bronycon Shadowbox Workshop

We got the information back from Bronycon and are happy to announce the date and times of our classes. Yes, you read that right! We will be doing TWO shadowbox building classes up at Baltimore to accommodate for the large number of expected attendees. Each class will hold 30 people so 60 people will get to build a paper pony with us! So here is all the vital information you'll need to join us. First, here is a picture of the boxes we will be building:

We're going to be building laughing ponies complete with a sparkly background! You will have your choice of the Mane 6 (available until supplies last). We will post mock-ups of the others a week before the con since that is when we will be creating and cutting them out!

The class will be held Friday and Saturday night from 6:30-8:30 PM. We don't know if you will need the full two hours to build these ponies since we have never done a class of them but plan to be there for the full time.

The class will cost $10 per kit and that will get you the pony pieces, background, glue, working utensil (toothpick), and tabs. A shadowbox frame is NOT included. All you need to bring is yourself!

We are accepting early sign-ups online so if you know you are coming and need to be in our class, send us an note with :

-Your full name
-Mane 6 pony of choice (either Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle, Applejack
Rainbow Dash or Rarity)
-Which day you plan to attend
-Phone number

We will send back payment information and you must make a payment through Paypal (or arrange something else with us) before your spot is reserved. If you don't have a dA, you may email us at mitcheb0219@gmail.com.

You can also buy kits at the convention. We will be selling them at our table (Booth 209) both days, however, if you want to guarantee that you get Best Pony, sign up early.

We have taught this class twice to date and are proud to report that everyone has walked out with a completed pony so no worries about ability. We'll make sure you have a built pony by the end!

We hope you'll join us in Baltimore and build with us. We always have a blast!

*Note that this is sign up for the two classes at Bronycon. You must be going to Bronycon to sign up for this class.*

Bronycon Limited Edition Exclusive

Bronycon 2014 Limited Edition Exclusive Luna by The-Paper-Pony

So here is the thing, there are only 30 of these Lunas . We won't ever be making anymore. You can only purchase this box at Bronycon 2014. Each Luna has a number (1-30) written on the back in silver. When they are gone, they are gone forever, and we won't be accepting orders.

We realized while creating our Babscon Exclusive that we were telling a story with these exclusive boxes. Nightmare Nights 2013 had Nightmare Moon, Babscon 2014 had a forlorn Celestia looking at the moon so we wanted Bronycon 2014 to finish the tale with Luna busting free from her Nightmare moon shackles. That is what we created here.

Luna's mane is crafted from glitter paper, as is the moon and swirls behind her. White crystals litter the air and her mane. Nightmare Moon's armor is bursting from her body and falling into the air, crafted out of silver mirrorboard. You can see remnants of black fading from the tips of her wings and her cutie mark is in transition from NMM to Luna's normal one. The tears streaming down her face are happy ones. She is finally free. Trust us when we say that this box is a beauty to behold in person.

We hope you come by booth 209 and check it out. We will be selling the first 15 on Friday and the other 15 on Saturday so make sure you are there early! She will be selling for $80 except for the first edition which will be slightly more and include the original sketch.

Bronycon Charity Auction Pictures!

We are hard at working getting ready for Bronycon. Seriously, if we are going to get the amount of boxes we want to bring done, we’ll have to do 6 a day until it arrives just to make it and that doesn’t count only customs, Bronycon commissions, Etsy sales, VA gifts or charity items. We are PUSHING.

As a result of the craziness known as our life, a few announcements have been pushed to the wayside. So we figured we’d right a big old journal post and make them!

As the title of the post suggests, we wanted to announce our Bronycon Charity Auction Items in the grand fashion they deserve. We have hunted around the community and asked some of our favorite artists to fashion us a piece of artwork of one of the Mane 6 that will be made into a shadowbox. There will only ever be two shadowboxes of each of these pieces. One will go to the artist who designed it and its twin will be donated to the charity auction. That means there will only be ONE COMPLETE set of the Mane 6 that exists in the world and you can only have a chance to bid for it at Bronycon.

Without further ado, here are the pieces and talented artists who have created such amazing art for us to put into shadowbox form:

Samantha “JadedJynx” Silva (:iconjadedjynx:)’s Fluttershy:

Sophie Cabra (:iconspainfischer:)’s Applejack

John Joseco (:iconjohnjoseco:)’s Rainbow Dash

Cat Whitney (:iconcatwhitney:)’s Twilight Sparkle

Christina “Leekfish” Cornford  (:iconleekfish:)’s Pinkie Pie

Pixelkitties (:iconpixelkitties:)’s Rarity

We will post up the photos of the each box as they are completed and again, these will be exclusive for Bronycon 2014. We asked each artist to create the character of their choice however they wanted and are amazed at what they could come up!

Custom commissions

We are going to be working on a batch custom system in the near future. We have been doing so much convention prep lately that we haven’t had much time for custom which has been killing us since we really like doing them.

We are still slowly working on those on our list and in the upcoming month, will start accepting 5 customs every month. As of right now, customs are still closed. We expect to open them again before Christmas so if you are thinking of a custom Christmas gift for a friend or yourself, be on the look out around October for that announcement!

Where you can find us:

You can find us at the following conventions:

-July 11-13th- Metrocon- Tampa, FL- This is a large Florida anime con. We’ll have a lot of tv stuff, a little bit of anime and of course ponies!

-August 1-3- Bronycon- Baltimore, MD- We will have loads of pony stuff! Look out for a lot of new ponies designs as well as a LIMITED EXCLUSIVE Bronycon 2014 shadowbox!

-August 15-17- Grand Brony Gala- Tampa, Fl- A small Florida Brony convention where we will have as many pony pieces as we can make!

-October 24-26- Nightmare Nights- Addison, TX- We’ll be back in Texas again with loads of pony designs plus an exclusive for 2014!

It's right in the middle of convention prep. We have shows back to back and are feeling the pressure. This means that all customs are closed for the time being.

If you are on our wait list or got your request in by today, then you are good to go. We will be SLOWLY working through the list. Otherwise, we will be opening back up customs later in a batch system.

Thanks for your patience guys and we hope to see you at an upcoming convention!

Hey everyone!

Mrs. Paper Pony here.

I wanted to let you all know that we received some huge news today that already has and will continue to affect our business.

You see, I am a writer. I've been a writer since I was 15 years old. I've written a lot of book but none of them have managed to find me an agent...until now!

That's right! I am so proud to announce that I am now represented by Nikki Terpilowski of Holloway Literary for a young adult fantasy novel I wrote!

For those of you that want the short story, there it is! What this means for our shadowboxes is that it may take us longer to get to them because I am trying to balance a third job between my day job, papercrafting and writing!

For those of you that are interested in the longer journey, here you go:

I have written six books before the one that landed me an agent. I've been trying to break into the publishing world for over 10 years (I started writing when I was 15 and am now 26).

I have been querying my manuscript for over a year, which is long even by publishing standards, but due to other unforeseen circumstances, I still hadn't found the right person to represent me.

But they say that when you find the right person, things happen fast. I queried the Holloway Literary on March 12th. The very next week, I got a request for a partial (the first 50 pages). The week after that (which was Megacon for those of you keeping track), I got a request for a full. Then, on April 1st (yeah, that's right, April Fools), I received an offer of representation!

This doesn't mean that I have a book coming out. I still have to go through editing and submissions to editors, who might reject me all over again. But this does mean that there is someone in the publishing world who believes me and fell in love with my characters as much as I did! This is the first major hurdle in a long road to publication!

So what I want to say is sometimes things don't work out at all like you expect them to. The road to finding an agent is long, treacherous and feels oh-so-lonely sometimes. But if you keep pushing, if you believe in yourself (and have others that believe in you when you can't), your dreams really will come true. The only way you can fail is not to try at all.

Here's to wishing that all of your dreams come true too, whatever they are. They can. I promise!

Babscon Exclusive

Babscon Exclusive Shadowbox by The-Paper-Pony

We wanted to premiere our Babscon exclusive! We will be making 20 of them and if we run out, we will accept orders at the convention. However, once the convention is over, we will no longer be making these. If you want one, you must be at the convention to get yours.

Don't forget that Nicole Oliver (voice of Celestia) will be there to sign your shadowbox!

Babscon Shadowbox Building Class

Babscon has put out the schedule for their events so we can announce when our panel will be! It will be Friday (4/14) at 6:30 PM in Hall of Magic (Panel Room 3) .

We only have 30 slots available and the filly kits will be first come, first serve. They cost $10 (which will cover our materials) and we will allow early sign up online. After April 15th, we will be selling the remaining kits at our booth all day Friday.

Shadowboxes: Filly Mane 6 (8x10) by The-Paper-Pony

At Nightmare Nights, our class filled up quickly and we ended up having to turn folks away so make sure you either buy in advance or get to our booth early Friday to ensure you get a slot and the filly of your choice.

These classes are a blast and we look forward to building with all of you!

Bronycon Bound

We tweeted it out but we wanted to announce that we got a vendor booth at Bronycon! You'll be able to find us there again this year with even more stock and LOADS of new designs!

Not only will we be donating a really cool set of the Mane 6 drawn by 6 different community artists to the charity auction, but we will also be doing a limited edition 2014 exclusive. And by limited, we mean that we will only be making 30 of this design and labeling each one on the back "_/30". When they are gone, they are gone.

You'll be able to find us here:

We can't wait to see you all there!

Megacon Stock

We had a blast at Megacon this past weekend. We met so many wonderful people who were really enthusiastic about our art form. We can't thank everyone enough for dropping by, talking with us and supporting us at Megacon. It was definitely an adventure.

We totally geeked out when John Barrowman (Doctor Who, Torchwood) came by the booth and admired our Captain Jack shadowbox. We got to give him the one we made for him and he signed one for us:

That will be the first of our artwork that will be going on our wall! I (Mrs. Paper Pony) was not alright for a full hour after that!

We do have some stock left over from the show so we are listing it below. Anything you see here is available for purchase and will ship right after:
*More to come*

Hope to see you at an upcoming convention!

Hey everyone!

We realize that we've been a bit absent lately. This is because we've been prepping for Megacon HARDcore. By this, I mean lots of very late nights and multiple boxes. Make sure to check out our gallery for some of the newer ones. You'll also be seeing a lot more pony stuff again directly after Megacon as we crunch even harder for Babscon.

For those going to Babscon, expect a smaller stock since we won't have time to make too much. We will be having an exclusive Babscon box featuring a pony we've never made before (!!!) which was going to be limited. However, considering our time is going to be super limited too, we will be taking orders for it at the con if we run out. We're also hoping to get an entirely new set of the Mane 6 out in time.

If you are on our list for customs, we really appreciate your patience. They've been "closed" for a while but we have still been accepting folks on our ridiculously long waiting list. We're going to have to take a look at how we are doing things and make some changes soon. That might be in the form of only accepting a few every week. The Mister and I both work full time jobs, I write novels and we make these shadowboxes so it becomes a lot to juggle. Again, we can't thank you enough for your patience with us!

What have you guys been up to lately?

Heading to Babscon!

Hey everyone! We wanted to put up a journal to officially announce that we are heading to Babscon in California! We didn't ever think we'd make it all the way to California but we are very excited about it. Babscon is April 18th-20th in Burlingame, CA. Among it's many guests are Tara Strong (Princess Twilight Sparkle), Andrea Libman (Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy), Peter New (Big Mac), Nicole Oliver (Princess Celestia), Cathy Weseluck (Spike), Megan McCarthy, M.A. Larson and more. With a roster like that, it was enough to make us take the leap and apply. We are really excited!

So, if you are attending, drop by the vendor hall and say hello. As long as we are accepted and the bugs are worked out, we will also be hosting a filly building class there as well like we did at Nightmare Nights. Just some stuff really early on, we will ONLY HAVE 30 SLOTS available for the class and will announce when you can sign up. When we are at the convention, we'll be selling the leftover slots all day until they sell out. We'd love to let everyone in but we just won't be able to prepare for that since we have to pre-cut the kits beforehand. The class will take up all 2 hours of the allotted time amount but at the end, you'll walk out with your very on filly that you built yourself. Again, we can't stress enough that if you know you want in, sign up online with us when we announce it or get the the vendor hall early.

You can look forward to some new designs for this convention (most of which will also be available at Bronycon. Here's a running list of things we're planning:

-Babscon LIMITED exclusive box (once they are gone, they are gone forever)
-Mailmare Derpy
-Mane 6 Power Ponies
-Scooter Scootaloo
-New CMCs box

If you see any on that list that you have to have, contact us about it. It'll ensure that we build that design and have it available for purchase.

So will you be attending Babscon? We hope to see you there!
